TRANSPORT SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Oil companies are demanding increasingly stringent safety standards and management practices of their transport contractors, who are operating in the challenging African environment. Most major oil companies have strict vetting protocols to ensure that their transport contractors comply with their standards.
The demand placed on oil companies to vet new and existing contractors makes it difficult to cover this critical assurance process adequately, due to the fluidity in legislative requirements and sustainability of long distance transportation companies.
SJS is in a position to undertake vetting on behalf of oil companies, using each individual company’s HSE vetting protocols and a small team consisting of people with experience in transport management, vehicle maintenance and driver training.
SJS has available to it experienced professionals who can perform the following services throughout the Sub Saharan Region:
- The HSE vetting of transporters on behalf of oil companies for either spot or term contracts
- The regular HSE vetting on behalf of transporters who already operate for oil companies, but required re-validation of their compliance to the oil company’s standards
- SJS can use the oil company’s own vetting protocol
- An advisory service or pre vetting audit to transport contractors who wish to provide a transport service to the oil industry.
